Regulators On Competition Law
At the American Bar Association Conference on Antitrust Law, regulators from the US, UK and India spoke about the developments in respective jurisdictions. Maureen Ohlhausen, Commissioner, Federal Trade Commission gave a glimpse of how US courts are reacting to the cases brought by the enforcement agencies.
Roger Witcomb, Chairman, UK Competition Commission appreciated the excellent level of co-operation between regulators in various jurisdictions and how UK’s competition regime is different from the rest of the world. CCI Chairman Ashok Chawla acknowledged that the CCI is the ‘baby in the room’ and India has a lot to learn from the experiences of the mature jurisdictions.
